Last updated: December 2024
1. Introduction
Hollr is operated by Hollr Group Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our mobile application and services.
By using Hollr, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
2. Information We Collect
Information You Provide: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and any profile information you choose to add. If you sign up as a business, we also collect your business name, address, and contact details.
Information Collected Automatically: When you use Hollr, we automatically collect device information (model, operating system), usage data (features used, time spent), loyalty activity (Hollrs collected, rewards earned, businesses visited), and approximate location data when you use location-based features such as discovering nearby businesses.
Information from Third Parties: If you sign in using Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address from those services. We do not receive your password.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide and improve our services, process your Hollrs and rewards, display your progress and level, show you nearby participating businesses, send you important service updates, and communicate prize draw results if you are a winner. We may also use aggregated, anonymised data to analyse trends and improve our platform.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Under UK GDPR, we process your data on the following legal bases: Contract (to provide our services to you), Legitimate Interests (to improve our services and prevent fraud), Consent (for optional marketing communications, which you can withdraw at any time), and Legal Obligation (to comply with applicable laws).
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data with businesses you visit (your name and loyalty progress for that business only), service providers who help us operate Hollr (including Supabase for database hosting and Vercel for application hosting), and legal authorities if required by law. All service providers are contractually required to protect your data.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes. Anonymised, aggregated data may be retained indefinitely for analytical purposes.
7. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access your personal data, correct inaccurate data, delete your data ("right to be forgotten"), restrict or object to processing, receive your data in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@letshollr.com.
8. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest, secure authentication, and regular security reviews. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
Hollr is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
10. International Transfers
Your data may be processed by service providers located outside the UK. Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
